Memoirs of a Geisha

Thanks for suggesting this book as a Mary Rollins' read. It's been years since I read it which was probably when it came out at the end of the 90s and I picked it up at the library last week (as an audiobook). I thought I'd give it a listen myself for a while before I passed it along to her as a suggestion . It's SOOOO good, in fact, even better than I remembered it.
If there's anybody left in the world over the age of 13 who hasn't read this, go right now and get it. Even better, get the audiobook! Excellent narrator, vivid story, beautiful language.
P.S. Has anyone seen the movie?

Thank goodness someone finally posted at long last. Yes, I saw the movie and it was good. BTW just finished reading THE HELP. Am interested in giving my opinion AFTER you all read it.

I have not read this...

I would normally feel embarrassed to admit this but our editor for a new Pearl Buck book told us in a meeting that she had never read The Good Earth... seriously??

Ahhh - maybe it was just my high school that it was required reading for. Interesting...

At least you aren't the editor for a Pearl Buck book.

I read the book of Job (you know, the Old Testament one) in my AP English class in high school. I had this great AP English teacher who also introduced us to Carl Jung. It was definitely the best class I had in high school. Didn't y'all do that 100 books you should have read list that was on Facebook?
