So do I win a prize, Isabug?
Among the many things I really like about audio books is the sense of mystery you have while you listen to them. There's no back cover to read and no accidentally skipping to the end. The story just unfolds at its own pace and then it's done. All you really have is the little cover picture and maybe a short description.
The Help is what I've been reading (a.k.a. listening to) for the last month. I had no idea what it was about just that everyone who had read it said it was really good. It was superb and made for the very best kind of audiobooks with three different narrators whose voices conveyed their characters so well. Put this on your must-read list, if not your must-listen to list.

Yes, you win! And guess what.. you don't even have to choose from my list below. I will let you search the entire S&S.com site and pick whichever audio book you like!
I need to read the Help. I think mom just discussed this at a book club, too.
Arg... did you see my comment though?
Oh well, Auntie G needs more books than I ;) Rumo and the dragon tattoo girl are keeping me busy ;) I can't wait till I finish and can finally talk to you guys about it, at which time you all will have probably forgotten all possibly details!
Peddie, you can pick one out too.. either pick from the 3 below or go to S&S website and pick a book.
I am enjoying The Zookeeper's Wife and will make a post as soon as I finish (er, start) the laundry.
Would the zoo keeper's wife be a good audio book? I keep almost picking it up...
I'm finally listening to the Book Thief again which I started ages ago. It's one of Mary Rollins' favorite books and it's fantastic. It's set in Germany during World War II.
OOh sounds like a good book! I am loving Zookeeper and think it would make an excellent audiobook. It reminds me some of Life of Pi
I loaned The Help to Susan Herlong, who read it in a week and then she gave it to Lee Ann to read. That was about 2 months ago.....
Did you know that Yann Martel who wrote Life of Pi has a new book called Beatrice and Virgil?

Dancelot is listening to The Help now. She can't stop listening to it and now we talk with various Mississippi accents much to Will's annoyance.
Haha... I wish I was there to hear it! And I didn't realize that Auntie G can change her color balance and name so effortlessly... ;)
woah you're right!
Lol...I thought you were referencing my ability to switch between an African-American mississippi accent and a white girl mississippi accent. Silly me. You just meant between my professional identity and my wii fit anime/google persona. Although, some people at my office do call me Gwennie....
Teeheeheee!!!! That's it... it just makes me giggle a lot ;) I miss you guys!!!!!!!!!!
We miss you Claire-bear. Please come home, to Lexington, your real home, not psuedo-home Charleston...
I have so many home-identity problems...
As opposed to the Internet identity problems that I apparently have...
We certainly need (the) Help! Heehee.
This is the funniest and funnest family!
I know!!! I would actually CHOOSE you people to be related to!!!
No kidding! Btw, I'm going to try and get Katie on this wagon!
I love this thread.
Boy yes. All I can do is wonder how we started... and still that we need "help"... but not really, we have each other!
Is there someway I can get this audio book form someone for free? Maybe this would be good for the morning commute, I'm getting kind of tired of the Glee soundtrack (and David is getting tired of me singing it ALL THE TIME)!
Isabug, just texted you solution for audiobook situation...and David and Will should spend some time together talking about wives/sisters who sing too much!! We own the soundtrack to Wicked!!!!! As well as Glee, mama Mia, west side story, phantom of the opera and Lion King!!!!
Bug, can you email me Gwennie's solution? I like the new covers thing too... hehe, maybe I'll put up a counter-productive one ;)
Also, I can't IMAGINE what you guys mean about only ever listening to the Glee soundtrack and singing it. all the time. everyday. No idea.
possibly trying out Rachel's high notes in the shower or empty rooms when working late at school...
Did you all watch Glee last night?
Did you know that Indina Menzel is the original Elpheba from Wicked? MR figured it out ages ago. And spoiler (stop reading if you didn't watch the episode yet):
We had already talked about how much Rachel looked like her!!!! We should be script writers.
Hehe, I'm bad at spoilers, but it atleast spoiled nothing for me so far.
Also, I have loved Kristin Chenoweth since Becky told me she was important, and Idina Menzel since Rent, and then was excited that she was in Wicked, and then COULD/CAN NOT BELIEVE that they are now both on Glee... IN THE SAME SEASON!!!
Also, anybody see mom's zookeeper post? Did that laundry ever get done??? ;)
