Neverwhere and Broadway Nights

I just finished Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman read by the author, in his preferred text.  It was really good.  I also discovered 7/8 of the way through that there's an icon on the iPod app of the iPhone that if you accidentally touch speeds up and/or slows down the audio speed.  Soooo...let's just say it took me a lot longer to listen to Neverwhere than it should have and the audio quality had a reverberation to it that made it sound like it was echoing in a subway station which I thought was intentional (albeit annoying) since so much of the narrative is set underground.  Silly me...

Has anybody read or heard Broadway Nights: A Romp of Life, Love and Musical Theater by Seth Rudetsky?  Our new BFF Kristen Chenoweth is one of the narrators on the audio book?  Should I get it?  It's on sale 1/2 price on audible until 11 a.m. this morning.  Tell me quick!!!!

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaa.... I'm so sorry! That is HILARIOUS! I found that button once too, but had already been listening to whatever book it was (Outlander? That would have taken YEARS!) so I figured it out.

I'm so glad you found a good reasoning for the reverberations though ;) I would say I will listen to this next ( I was looking forward to it) but now I'm SO EXCITED that an actual author posted on our modest little blog that I'm going to jump to 'Hotel on the Corner..."

I'm also sorry that I somehow missed this post and wasn't able to respond earlier, but glad you got the book by our other BFF. We are such high flyers ;) That will be THIRD.

And all of this, btw, will be for when I finish "kicked the hornet's nest" (am I driving everyone crazy with the abbreviations? I guess I could have spared this parenthetical distraction...), which I started immediately after finishing 'played with fire' and let me tell you... that is the way to do it. Otherwise I would have forgotten the half of the names I can still keep up with ;)

I read all three Girl books (now known as the Millenium Trilogy here in the US and is all the rage -- we were so ahead of the curve) non-stop too right as the Hornet was coming out.

Hey Isabug, do you think you could get me one of those jobs at Simon & Schuster where they pay you to read books and determine if they'll be successful or not? I think I'd be really really good at it!!!

I would definitely hire you...

Also, I FINALLY finished the girl books! I was the last person in the workshop, with my friend Simon who has read them as well. We talked a bit about them. I think he read each within the course of about 3 days. They are also big in Germany, as are the films.

Ok, I am onto "You have reached the end of this part of your audible book, which has been broken up into parts, to make the download faster..." second part of "Broooadway Nights!" and it is AMAH-ZING.

I totally recommend this for a breather between war/murder/crime stories. Who is this guy? He is truly hilarious. I lol all the time listening, which was embarassing while stretching yesterday in the gym ;)

Oh yeah for Broadway Nights!!! I just met Francoi-z this morning, finally. I'd been anticipating her thanks to MR who finished it yesterday!! (I've only been allowing myself to listen to it while I run although I made an exception for some laundry folding yesterday).

I think this is like the shopaholic books that it's a definite Must-Hear! Some books are just meant to be read aloud by really talented narrators!!!

P.S. read Seth Rudetsky's bio on Wiki. It's really interesting!
