Just finished this book for Book Club. Since this is my first posting on this site, and it is spur of the moment, I don't have anything intelligent to say except that it is a good read for historical/modern fiction. I am sending Isabelle back to NY with my copy. (they are making a movie of this book so read it before it comes out as the book is always better)

Great job, mere/schwester! I had this already on my read list but am delighted to see your favorable recommendation. I was considering getting it as an audiobook. Do you think it's too mature for fräulein dancealott? She read The Book Thief which features lots of Holocaust tragedy and is narrated by Death himself. I'm engaged in it myself at the moment and think it's brilliant. It's billed as "young adult literature" but I think that's poppycock.

I don't think that the book is too graphic for the Fraulein and since it is told in part from a 10 year old child's perspective, could be a good educational read. You should judge however. Very interesting as I never had heard about Vel d'Hiv (and apparently most French citizens nowadays haven't either).

Yay for Mom posting!!! AND just like everything else that I forgot while running to my 6am flight.. I didn't get a copy of this book. Oh well. You can mail it to me, right?!

I'm reading an Amelia Earhart book right now. It's great, though not the best book to read while flying.

Me, Mid-flight: Chapter 3, The Honolulu Crash

AHHHHHH.

At least you didn't leave Sarah's Key in the seat back...

Also...I just got Sarah's Key as an audiobook which I'm going to listen to just as soon as I finish with the smutty but very engaging Dragonfly in Amber (sequel to Outlander).

HAha... (yes! I do begin every blog post this way! I can't help it! I don't even try!!!)... I look forward to borrowing THAT smutty audiobook from you next time! I'm also jealous that you, Auntie G, can use umlauts and I can't ;p

Also, is this book a gorger, or chapter by chapter kind of book?

I think my comments are also getting cruder with time.
